VLN Core Training: Housing Court Basics

This CLE will provide an overview of volunteering in Housing Court and the legal framework for representing clients in typical cases in Housing Court and navigating through Zoom Court efficiently.

Presenters:
Liv Sayavong, Housing Project Attorney, Volunteer Lawyers Network.
  Liv grew up in North Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She was a paralegal prior to becoming an attorney.  Her experience varies from judicial law clerk, public defender, and general practice prior to joining VLN, where she now practices housing law and expungement full time.
Sonja Woodward, Housing Program Manager and Resource Attorney, Volunteer Lawyers Network.  Sonja has been with Volunteer Lawyers Network in various capacities since 2021.  Before that, she was a labor attorney with the California School Employees Association in San Jose, California for 20 years, where she represented school employees who were not teachers or management in their disputes with their employers.
