Championing Justice in Minneapolis, July 23
The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) joins Minnesota Legal Services Coalition programs this month for a forum and reception on Tuesday, July 23rd. Learn about Minnesotans’ consumer debt burden, issues impacting family and housing stability, and local experiments to improve meaningful access to civil legal aid where it is needed most. A reception will follow a legal forum to celebrate individuals and organizations—from Red Lake to Ramsey County—who are protecting the promise of justice for all.
The Forum on Increasing Access to Justice will be held at the Minneapolis Central Library, Pohlad Hall, from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. and is presented in partnership with five Minnesota legal aid programs - Anishinabe Legal Services, Central Minnesota Legal Services, Justice North, Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, and Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services. The forum will include a wide range of Minnesota legal professionals and advocates including Dori Rapaport and Rachel Albertson, Justice North; Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn, Minnesota House of Representatives; John Buhta, Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, Katy Drahos, Fredrikson & Byron; Jenna Finn and Cody Nelson, Anishinabe Legal Services; Ron Flagg, Legal Services Corporation; Chief Justice Natalie Hudson, Minnesota Supreme Court; John Levi and Laurie Mikva, Legal Services Corporation Board of Directors; Jim Long, Maslon LLP; and Kim Miller, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota.
The Champions of Justice Reception will be held at the Royal Sonesta Minneapolis Downtown Hotel from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend these special events, but space is limited and registration should be completed here by July 15, 2024. Contact Updates@lsc.gov with any questions.
